What is Neck Hernia?
A high-water-content nucleus exists at the center of the discs. The tearing of the strong membrane layer surrounding this nucleus as a result of excessive strain causes the nucleus to protrude, leading to cervical disk herniation.
This condition can lead to complaints such as:

How is Neck Hernia Diagnosed?

Non-Surgical Treatment
Mild neck hernias usually do not require surgery. The goal of treatment is to reduce pressure on the nerve and control pain:
- 1-2 days of rest
- Restricting neck movements
- Anti-inflammatory and pain medications
- Physical therapy and exercise programs
- Epidural steroid injection
Surgical Treatment
Surgical treatment is applied in patients who do not respond to medical treatment, experience loss of strength, or have spinal cord compression. With microsurgery techniques, the part of the disc that presses on the nerve and spinal cord is removed. In advanced cases, surgery should not be delayed; otherwise, permanent paralysis can develop.
